Your customer runs a real business and is not an engineer.
They only tell you what you ask about. Missing a question means missing a requirement.
Ask about their machine and their people, not about PLCs.
Keep asking until you could build it without calling them back.

Your bench

The customer only asks for things these devices can do.

green NO pushbutton, yellow NO pushbutton, red NC pushbutton
selector switch
limit switch
proximity sensor (your hand is the object)
red, yellow and green pilot lights
contactor coil → gearmotor

You decide which device plays which part of their machine.

Ask like an engineer

“What should happen if…?” finds more than “Does it have a timer?”

Ask about the normal day, then about what goes wrong.
